Long time no see

Posted by sarasautographs at 07:14 AM on November 02, 2009 Comments comments (2)

It's been a while since the last time I wrote here; I just haven't felt like writing at all. I've had some updates, which I've posted on my Home-page.

I wish it would have been better, but some of my requests just won't come back. Have they even reached the person they were addressed to? It's mainly the letters I've sent to venues, and if I should give you some kind of idea of how unucky I am with venues, I'd say my success rate is somewhere around 10%, or maybe even lower. I'm not really sure, it's just an estimation.

However, I've gotten a few awesome responses, like Björn Borg, Movits! and Daniel Craig. Those were some of my most wanted.

Hopefully this week will bring some new, great successes.

Take care,

Sara

MANY letters to send...

Posted by sarasautographs at 11:00 PM on July 26, 2009 Comments comments (0)

So, after this bad week (regarding autographs), I've decided to send some more requests, mainly to some of the actors in Generation Kill (Lee Tergesen, James Ransone, Billy Lush, Rey Valentin, Kellan Lutz, Neal Jones, Stark Sands and Jon Huertas), but also to Lotta Schelin, A Camp, Tom Daley and Robyn. So, after a few weeks I'll hopefully recieve something back.

I bought some stamps today, from the Swedish Postal Office, to a total of 502 SEK. Since it costs 26 SEK to send a letter to USA and 22 SEK to send a letter to Europe (that weighs more than 20 grams) I thought it would be better to buy a lot of stamps so I have some at home. I also ordered photos to a total of 117 SEK, so it's expensive to collect autographs!

Finally, "my" team IF Elfsborg is in the lead in Allsvenskan (the Swedish national football championship) so I'm in a pretty good mood.

I hope I see some envelopes in my mailbox tomorrow, otherwise I'll be a little sad.. I keep my fingers crossed.

Nothing this week either.. Ah!

It's been a tough week, if we're talking about autographs. This Monday I got two letters, one from Grace (who I bought some american stamps from) and from Dustin Hoffman. The reason to why I haven't posted his autograph, is because it's an AP, and I don't want to post fake autographs on my site. I have some on this site that I'm not sure about the authenticity, like Kiefer Sutherland, Brad Pitt and Kiera Knightley, but I've posted them anyway. From now on, I won't  post  fakes on this site. End of story.

So, to what I was going to talk about. Regarding autographs: I haven't recieved any autographs this week (well, we have tomorrow too, but I doubt that I'll get anything...) and frankly, I'm going bananas. Autograph collecting has become an addiction, and even though it's a great hobby, it's also disappointing to not recieve any. Right now, I'm breathing, eating and sleeping autographs. I just hope that I'll get autographs next week.

One person that I'd love to get a reply from is Gwen Stefani, and I have high hopes (which could be a bad idea, since I had high hopes for P!nk, Katy Perry and Flo Rida. Hm, have I recieved replies from them? NO. This could definitely end up with me getting really disappointed.) Well, on fanmail one member posted a success from No Doubt and she got her photo signed by Gwen and Adrian, which means that Gwen signs VV. And, since I sent my letter to Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, maybe I'll get her autograph too? I hope so, I don't want to expect anything right now.

However, I got one of my favourite autographs last week: Robin Söderling, so maybe I can stand another week with 0 successes...

Sweden's tribute to MJ

Posted by sarasautographs at 12:08 PM on July 10, 2009

I found this clip on YouTube yesterday and it made me realize how big Michael Jackson really is. This tribute is one of the best I've ever seen, so BIG thanks to the dance crew Bounce who made it all happen. R.I.P MJ

A new autograph on the way.

I just got a reply from Olympiakos Piraeus, a greek football club, and they made me very happy! I had sent them an email about Olof Mellberg, and if they had an address that I could use to contact Olof and hopefully ask for his autograph. They asked for my address, and said that they'll send me his autograph when their players come back to Piraeus in August. So, maybe I'll have Olof Mellbergs autograph next month! I already sent him two pictures for him to sign, to his agents management, but still no reply. Hopefully I'll get a reply from that address too.

Goosebumps.

I've found a fantastic song on YouTube. Can't stop listening to it. It's definitely worth listening to. You can find it here.

I'm getting a little worried...

Posted by sarasautographs at 07:45 PM on June 23, 2009 Comments comments (1)

Well, I do feel worried right now. I've sent letters to P!nk, Katy Perry, Alexander Rybak, Elton John, Mario Balotelli and Bojan Krkic. All via venue, but still no reply from any of them.

This is absolutely the worst thing about collecting autographs. I'm constantly worried that I haven't added enough postage, and now I know for sure that I didn't add enough postage on the letter to Seth Rogen. I couldn't sleep last night because of it.. I just thought that "Hey, my Seth Rogen-autograph is laying somewhere in USA, and it won't come back to me.. That's how it goes when you don't double-check that you added enough potstage, Sara!" I'm seriously disappointed at myself, I'm usually a control-freak, so this just doesn't make sense. If I get Seth Rogens autograph, it's because of a miracle. I promise.

Also, both P!nk and Katy Perry have finished their concerts. P!nk performed in Australia from July 6th to July 10th, and Katy Perry performed in the U.K on July 9th and July 10th. Why haven't I gotten something back? I even ordered australian and british stamps, which cost me a lot.. I hope that they'll come soon, maybe it takes longer 'cause I didn't write "Airmail" on them? I hope so. Please say it's because of that! At least I then know why it has taken them sooo long.

All the other requests should come soon. I mean, both Alexander Rybak and Elton John are finished with their concerts. Mario Balotelli is still here in Sweden (I sent my letter to the hotel that he's staying at, and I even sent an email to the hotel and they said that it's totally OK to send my letter to them. For some reason it feels like I've already mentioned this.. Sorry, but I haven't written in my "blog" for a while..) and Bojan Krkic (and his Spain) are out of the competition, so I should get a reply back soon. The thing is, I haven't gotten a reply from the hotel, so they might not forward mail to the players.

Well, keep your fingers crossed for me, I'll need it.

A new success!

I never thought I'd get an answer from Amanda Seyfried, since I was sure I didn't add enough postage on the letter to her. Obviously I did, 'cause today I recieved my photo and index card back, signed by Amanda. I really liked her in "Mamma Mia! The Movie" and she seems to be so sweet to her fans. The funny thing is that I sent the letter to USA, but I got it back from the U.K. Maybe she's filming a movie in the U.K?

So, later today I'll send my letter to Alexander Rybak who'll perform on a small arena (I'm not sure if it's big enough the be called an arena...) here in Sweden. I sent an email asking if they could forward my letter to him, but I haven't gotten a reply for almost 3 weeks now. I'll send it anyway, maybe I'll get lucky.

Still going strong

About an hour ago, my dad, I and my brother went for a ride in our Buick LeSabre (-68) that still, after all these years, is going strong. I'm pretty happy, since it feels like summer when we take the car for a ride, and most of the people we meet/drive by look at the car an extra time.. It's funny to see their reactions: it's not always you'll see a car like ours (I'm not trying to brag at all!) and it's quite special. I really like this car a lot, it has a nice rumbling sound that I'm totally in love with.

Sweden and sports... Not a good combination.

Ah, I'm really tired of this and I had to write it off. It seem to be a bad combination: Sweden and sports. It just won't work. It's not going well in soccer, ice hockey or any other sport I think. Sure, Sweden has gotten some medals, and Söderling at least came to the final in the French Open, but otherwise... NO. I don't know why, but at this point, I have no expectations on Sweden in any sport: I always feel betrayed for some reason. We always get our butts kicked.

Let me give you an example; the qualifications for the World Championships. Yesterday, when Sweden played against Denmark, we lost. This is what really makes me pissed: A swedish defender accidentally shot the ball to a danish player, and guess what? He scored. It wouldn't have bothered me that much if it was a great goal, but in this case it wasn't. That's how we lost. On the 6th of June, Sweden's national day. Feels g-r-e-a-t.

Just found out that Roger Federer won against Robin Söderling. It isn't that much I can complain about there, Federer played very well and frankly, even though I'm a big fan of Robin Söderling, he didn't have a chance.. Oh, well. Söderling came to the final and what a great tournament he did. Söderling is fantastic.

I don't know if this sounds weird, but when something bad happens I always think that something good will come out of it. Like if I did bad on a test, that could mean that I'll recieve an autograph. I have tons of other examples like that, but not every bad event that happens means that I'll recieve an autograph, though... Briefly: I'm superstitious.
