Sara's Autographs

- a site about my collection

About me

Thanks for stopping by!

My name is Sara. I'm 17 years old and live in Sweden. I have been collecting autographs since late 2007/beginning of 2008. I first started my collection with only swedish celebrities, the very first autograph I got was probably (not quite sure) from a swedish singer, Sonja Aldén, and I think her response was one of the things that made me even more interested in autograph collecting. It wasn't her autograph itself, but the nice note she wrote on the back of the picture she sent to me. It made me realize that you actually can get more than a signature from someone you like and admire, you can get a personal response, and it feels great that some celebrities takes the time to really make the autograph personal. Of course, certain celebrities can't do that, due to lack of time or simply too many requests, and it's totally fine by me. That just makes the ones that are personalized even more exciting to get.

By having access to sites like Fanmail, I can easily find addresses to celebrities that are more well-known and I can also read feedback from other members that have used an address, so that I know who I most likely will get a response from.

The reason I started this site was to share my successes with anyone interested, and hopefully share experiences. I also want to help other autograph collectors, so feel free to contact me!

I'm not interested in just getting as many autographs as I can, I'm only requesting autographs from people I like and admire. Hopefully they'll get my letter, and then I have something that's unique, if the signture is authentic, and that's just priceless. The same thing with people that have done something outstanding, like Miep Gies. Her letter and signed photo is a piece of history. Nothing is as fantastic as that! (For those who don't know anything about her, she's one of the Dutch citizens who hid Anne Frank and her family during World War II, risking her own life.) I sent a letter, with the hopes that she'd read it, and I also sent an index card. I asked her kindly if she'd like to sign my index card, but the response I got was more than I expected. She sent me a signed photo of herself, and also a letter, personally signed by her. She's now 100 years old (she was 99 when I recieved her letter), and still takes the time to read letters from people around the world. That's simply amazing.

I'm hoping to continue collecting autographs for a long time, and I'm looking forward to the successes I'll hopefully have in the future.

Best of luck to my fellow collectors!

Take care, Sara
